HIGH POINT — Sherrill Furniture brand, Lillian August, is marking its 30-year anniversary at High Point Market this spring celebrating three generations of design. Along with a planned celebration, the company will be introducing new products designed by each generation in the family to highlight different design styles for customers eager for some much-needed panache.

Lillian August has been designing of furniture, wall coverings and textiles for more than 30 years. Living in Kentucky, she raised her family and began promoting women entrepreneurs, training and offering access to fulfilling careers. August began designing textiles in the 1980s, with a line of English country house inspired quilts, fabrics and wallcoverings.

In the 30 years since then, the brand has grown with multiple licensed collections for the Lillian August brand in furniture, original textiles, wallcoverings and home accessories. Today, this family business is celebrating a successful 15-year partnership with Sherrill Furniture Co. designing high-end custom upholstery and case goods that fit a variety of lifestyle looks.

“I am so proud to be celebrating three generations of hard work and success with our family, friends, colleagues and fans of great design,” said August. August, her son Dan Weiss and granddaughter Eliza Weiss now work together as a family team pursuing creative endeavors through strong relationships with manufacturers.

For High Point Market, Lillian August will feature three unique lifestyles that represent the vision of the three generations. First is August’s Maximalist Regency, which blends historical references and glamour with bold, bright colors and patterns.

Eliza Weiss designed the New Traditional collection, a fresh interpretation of the grand-millennial trend. These products revisit traditional styles and frames to highlight their romantic point of view. “I am inspired to introduce new pieces that will appeal to our devoted customer base along with a new generation of young designers who are revisiting what traditional means with a new romantic lens,” she said.

The Vintage Roundtop collection, which mixes natural materials and relaxed finishes for an elegant casual look, represents Dan Weiss’s aesthetic and point of view. “Now, with three generations, we can expand upon our brand to portray a range of lifestyles and looks that fit various aesthetics,’’ he said. “We are excited to continue to develop new and elevated furniture designs for years to come.’’

Several new additions to the Modern Living collection include:

  • The Marlowe table is a smooth, round versatile dining table that can go in any dining space with clean lines and geometric shapes.
  • The Conrad cabinet is a sleek cabinet that can function as a storage or bar cabinet. This two-door wood cabinet features a Volakas stone top, metal door pulls and a plinth base.
  • The Millie swivel chair is a small-scale swivel chair. The size and shape allow it to be used in a variety of living spaces, such as a living room, bedroom or even an entryway.
  • The Lorenzo sectional is a curved u-shaped sectional sofa that blends elegant lines and glamorous curves with a bold design. The long, armless silhouette is complemented by any type of fabric selection.

To celebrate the 30 years and three generations of design for Lillian August, there will be a market kickoff party hosted by Brittany Chevalier, executive editor of Luxe Interiors + Design. The event will be held April 21, from 5-7 p.m. at the Sherrill showroom at 315 Fred Alexander Place.
